Thanksgiving in the sticks

Weeelll dagGUM! I be spendin' the last four days in them sticks in Georgia!

Whoa, that was harder than I thought.
Translation: Well gollly gee! I spent the last four days in Georgia!

My dad and I took a red eye flight to Atlanta Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I love Georgia, I love the accents, the hilarious people, the woods there....I could seriously go on. My grandma and my mom picked us up from the airport around 6:30am and we drove about a half an hour back to Grandma's house...
This, is my Grandma's front yard...
My dad and I later ran through the hills singing "The hills are alive, with the sound of music..."

It was SO stinkin' gorgeous there. My Grandma's cabin home is HUUUGE and I loved just being in it.
The next day was THANKSGIVING. Stuffing, rolls, mashed potatoes, heaven, TURKEY, ham.... -droooool-
And then these crazy people came over...
Obviously I'm related to these stellar people :)
And my brother Danny was able to drive down from New York!!! :)
I am so thankful for him. He is my best sibling/brother/friend/thing. :) haha. He is so hacking hilarious and never fails to put a smile on my face!
McKenna and I
Yeah, we're pretty FLIPPIN legit :)

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for a lot of things. I am thankful for the Gospel in my life, it has strengthened me so much and I have such a strong testimony that it is THE true gospel. I am thankful for the ability to laugh, it is my favorite thing to do. I love laughing with people and just feeling joy. Laughing has helped me get through tough times. I am thankful for my parents, they are my best friends. They encourage me to do good and are very patient with my teenager-ness. I love them so much! They are always there for me and teach me lessons that help me through this life. I am thankful for my friends. I swear I am secretly related to some of them, that's how close we are. They get me through the hardest of times and they are ALWAYS there to listen. They help me to not be afraid and to stay strong. Most of them I trust with all my heart and know they will never let me down. I love them dearly! I am thankful for music. It has helped me relax and get out off the world. Especially the piano; I am not stressed out once start playing. I'm thankful for Evergreen Ward, it was hard for me at first to move into the ward. But they are truly amazing people and some of my best friends are in that ward. They help me see my true potential and that I am a daughter of God. I'm thankful for the prophet Thomas S. Monson. His words have helped me know what to do through our this life and how to stay strong. He is wise and I am thankful for his leading example and I know he is God's mouthpiece. I am thankful for nature. It is beautiful and calming, I am thankful for God's amazing creations! And last but SOOO not least, I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my best friend and he never leaves me alone. He listens to my problems and knows exactly how I feel. He rejoices with me, he cries with me and he laughs with me. He knows I try and that I try hard...he understands me. I am thankful for his atoning sacrifice and his loving heart towards his siblings.

Remember me? No? Oh, I'm Aubri!

Woooow. Remember when I was a crazy blogger? Yeah, me neither.

Here are the little things I've been loving/they bring happiness in my life:

**Playing the Piano, it's the one thing that helps me calm down when I want to just scream and kick someone. I'm glad I haven't kicked anyone yet...because that would be bad...anywho. I'm thankful for that ability to just sit and play...no goals, I just want to play.
Pinned Image

**People holding my hand- call me what you want...but I love it when people hold my hand, especially what I've been going through lately with certain "silly" people. It's just nice to know that people care & come to comfort me.
Pinned Image
**Winter, I LOVE the cold. Heck, it brings snow to places (but not Mesa. BLAST) and you can wear sweats and big hoodies and people don't question if you are a gangster!
(Behold below, I was once little)
** My friends are THE BEE'S KNEES. Words cannot express how stellar they are... so I shall dance. Just kidding, I'm white- remember? I'll just leave these pictures here...enjoy :)
If these aren't your friends, there IS something wrong.

**When someone hugs back tighter. Heartwarming, loving hugs. Not your wimpy, pity hugs. a REAL bear hug.
Pinned Imagehugs!hugs.
I wouldn't recommend hugging a tiger though....that's dangerous.
But I just. love. hugs.

"It's slower than Christmas!"

Brother Clanton said that in Seminary- made.my.day.

This week has been a hard week. But what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger right? Let's just say: I dislike math...a lot. But I am SO thankful for those people who try to help me understand stinkin' math. I appreciate them SO much.
IT HAS FINALLY STARTED RAINING!!! YAY!!
*finally*

In choir, we have started redeeming ourselves! Legendary Westwood Honor Choir is at our fingertips!! :) Ms Farenga is a WONDERFUL teacher. She respects us and we respect her. And she reminds us everyday why we (or those who take choir seriously) are there each day: to sing our hearts out! :)

This is when I felt old...
I took SENIOR pictures!!!!!
(thank you Jeri Jackson!!)

Scary moment: On Friday, my mom woke up in excruciating pain. I seriously wanted to cry. It was so scary! We thought she had an appendicitis, but she took some Tylenol. And also the pain was on her left side. Then Saturday morning, I woke up to a text from my mom (around 4 in the morning) saying my dad took her to the ER. Of course, I shot out of bed, running around looking from my mom. My dad called me and said they would be home from the hospital in about an hour. I went back to bed and we found out what was wrong.

I'm not going to say what happened, but she is fine :) Thank you to those who prayed for her and my family :)

I also got asked to HOMECOMING!!! WOO WOO! I am SUPER excited. I'm going with Cole Holt :)

Where Were You on 9-11?

I was in 1st grade.

I can't remember many of the details before or after...but I remember this...

My mom had picked me up and drove me home from school early. I didn't know why until I walked into the living room and my brother Danny and his friend Seth were watching TV. I was only in 1st grade, and seeing my mom cry for the first time...it impacted me as much as it did anyone else. We watched as the second plane hit and I didn't know how it happened. I didn't know why or what...but I knew that day would be remembered for forever.

Today is 9-11-2011

I am now a Senior in high school. And to this day, I think of when I was small and still understood what was going on. My heart goes out to all those families who lost their loved ones, to those firefighters and policemen who sacrificed themselves to save those who were in need, to those who called (or tried) their spouses/parents/families and those who thought of those they loved most during their last moments of life, and to those who became true heroes on that tragic day. May God bless you and those who are in need of dire comfort to this day.

May we all think of those people today and be thankful for our freedom, and especially for our families.

I love technology, not as much as you, you see...

I just talked to my best friends....

who are in China......

.....on Skype.

Let's just say, holy FLIP thank GOODNESS for Skype and laptops that contain Skype-ness!!!! This whole week has been full of tears and more tears because of all my senior friends from last year leaving. We have been emailing each other, but that isn't enough. To actually SEE that they are safe and sound, my heart was COMPLETELY joyful!!!!

Heck, they even made their own blog: Click HERE and follow them because they are the BEE'S KNEES.

I'm so thankful for my friends and how they inspire me to do good.

Now, it's the 4th week of Senior Year. And I have only had ONE super bad day!!!! -HIGH FIVE-
Homecoming is coming up, Sept 24th. Um, yeah, I still have yet to be asked. And I'm a Senior. All these juniors are getting asked.

Ummmm...What?!

At first I was like, "Aw yay! You got asked!" Now I am going "COME ON!!!! Seriously??!!" But bless their junior souls, because if I were a guy...I would ask a junior too because they are pretty legit.

So, if any awesome boys haven't asked someone yet....just come over...and we can chat...and I'm pretty awesome......sooo..yeah.

In Honor Choir, I was voted to be PRESIDENT. WOO!

I'm old.

It seem like yesterday, I was the one worshiping the seniors.

Now I'm one of them.

Whenever I hear "graduation", "senior pictures", "senioritis" (not really, I have had senioritis since the first day of junior year)....anywho, I get chills. It's ending!

Did I mention I'm not in IB anymore? Let me say, it was one of the best decisions I've made. I'm taking classes I love and I have LEGIT teachers. And guess what! I'm around normal people! I love it!

My first hour is Seminary with Brother Clanton. He is my friend's (Devyn and Ammon) dad. He is SO awesome! I love having seminary first hour!
***STORY TIME!***
The first day of school is on a Wednesday, so school starts at 8:30am. My mom would always drop me off in front of the seminary building, no biggy. So she pulls up by the Seminary building, I get out, cross the crosswalk and go into the seminary building. I turn around and see that a police man behind my mom's car. She got pulled over!!!!! Apparently you are not suppose to park there between 8:00m and 3:00pm. And apparently it has been like that since for forever and a day! ...weird.

So I text my mom why she got pulled over, this was her reply.....

Rollin' in my gangsta ride with da big dawgs by my side. Pimpin' in No Parkin' Zones, homies textin on dey phones. "Hey yo, isn't dat jo ma. In da han' cuffs goin' daw(n)? Busted on a coupa' warrants, Whoda' guess'd dat dey ma parents...I'm feelin' it.

Fo shizzle Mother, Fo shizzle.

My second hour is English 101 with Mrs. Akers. I had Akers my sophomore, and it wasn't the BEST experience. I'm hopin' this year will brighten up :)

Third hour is Anatomy with Blondis. LOVE this class! Our first day consisted of getting to know each other and Brett Ray and Emily Mattison and I cracking jokes. We have already learned about early medicine and stuff like that :) And I haven't been bored yet!!!

Fourth hour is AP Gov with Mr. Ide. He is one hilarious man! And Toddler is in my class!

Then I got to B Lunch with Jenni, Liz, Livvy, Corrine, Courtney and Todd. Poor Todd. But being a senior means we can be legal and LEAVE campus!!!! :D :D :D I'm so thankful for my friends and for food....and being a senior.

Then off to Honor Choir with 78 other students. SEVENTY-EIGHT PEOPLE. And some of them just registered for Honor Choir like it was a regular class. I seriously think that isn' t fair, the juniors from last year work our TAILS off to make it in. And people are just walking in? Say what?!

Ms. Farenga is pretty legit. She is strict but wants to help. She is also VERY organized and has ALREADY planned the Spring Choir Trip. Hooollllaaaaaahhhhh!!!! Also, last year we had this little "tradition" where if the class was clapping, then Juan Zazueta would stand up and we would all end the clap together. It was legit. He gave that job to ME! And I got to do it twice yesterday....
Best. Feeling. Ever.

Wanna know my first assignment for my sixth hour (Trig with Mr. D)? I had to make a magazine cover about myself. I'm likin' this class already. I sit next to this sophomore named Chance and he is in IB. Poor, poor kid.

My goals for this year?
1) GRADUATE.
*Short, simple. To the point.
2) Find joy in ALL things.
* I like being happy. I want to feel that everyday this year.
3)Get a job.
* Oh, yeah. I got my permit..... YAY UPDATES!
4) Don't steady date. At all. None. Boys are gross.
* I'm never doing it again. It kind of ruined my summer.
5) Get my license

Heeeey I remember you!

Holy hannah. It's been awhile, eh? (I'm not from canada)

Where do I start???? Well, Ma and I went to good ol' Disneyland :) Oh how that place treated me so well.
Us on the first day at the opening :)

We had 3 days of 5 to 30 minute waits on rides. The first day, we went on 7 rides before noon! It was amazing! We literally walked on to Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Sppoooooooookkkkyyyy!!!

My mom's face= EPIC WIN. (on Pirates....DUH.)
We went on the new version of Star Tours and that was LEGIT. They put it in 3D and you can go to more than 1 place. I practically went through all the Star Wars movies the 3 times I went on that ride.

Then we went on good, happy, thrilling Thunder Mountain.....
I was THRILLED.

Did I mention I became a Disney FAN? Check out my shnazzy lanyard with my awesomespice PINS!!!!!!
Rapunzel, Mary Poppins and Ariel started out the day and were latered joined by Peter Pan, Simba and Crush

I went on Matterhorn for the first time!!!! It was fun......WOO.
I love kind people at Disneyland who know you are going to struggle trying to take a picture of your mother behind you, so they help :)

She was excited.... way too excited :)

My mom got WAAAAAAY too competitive on this ride. We went on it 2 times the first day and 3 times in a row the second day.

I could not get enough of Soarin', after screaming my guts out or dying from the heat, I would go on this ride to sleep/relax and try to gain back the feeling in my legs from walking too much.
I'm proud to say I took this picture :)

HOLY>HEAVENLY>GOODNESS! Yes, that is my hero right there. Yes, I have never been so excited in my life to see someone. My thoughts? "Oh look, a person in a pinned striped suit. He looks like Bert...wait. She's- HOLY GOODNESS THAT'S MARY POPPINS AND BERT!!!!!!!!!" Sadly, I didn't get a picture WITH her, but I saw her....that's all I need to live.

Mom: Aubri, you can't smile! You need to get all gangsta like she is!
Snow White's step mom: Gangsta?! What is this Gangsta you speak of?

Never tick of Snow White's step mom.

(2nd day)
Aladdin pointing at my Mary Poppins Pin: Oh! I thought that was Jafar!!
Me blushing at his beauty: Oh no! It's Mary Poppins!
Aladdin: Have you seen her recently?
Me: I saw her yesterday!
Aladdin: Oh, I wonder where she is because she is suppose to be taking care of Abu.
Who would EVER want to go on this "ride"? Who???

Round three on tower of terror? The most LEGIT AMAZING ride EVER?!!

Did I mention I met my hero on this ride? Look at that man. I seriously died laughing.
I will never forget you "random man covering up his girlfriend's face". Never.

I also realized....
...Alice is creepy.

Yeah, I know I know. I'm pretty cool.

My mother is so cute :) :)

Ok ok ok, I'm the kind of girl who never grew up watching Disney princesses everyday of my life. I never had a favorite Disney princess till now. Rapunzel, you win. Where have you been ALL MY CHILDHOOD?!

3rd day
I will never go on this ride ever again. ever.
This ride will change your life. How? Sit up in the very very front of the roller coaster. That'll make you wet yourself a bit.

Mickey squared?!

So yes. Disneyland was AMAZING. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!
When you go, watch "World of Color". It was possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed in my life. No joke.
