Dirty looks, Compliments & {Pure Joy}

This weekend's past was such a joy :)

But may I rewind to New Year's Eve...

Some of my goals are to be more positive/smile, to compliment people more often and to not be offended so easily. I just have this feeling that if I keep doing this, more wonderful opportunities will come my way. And if they don't, I'll be able to handle it a little better than usual.

On New Year's Day I arrived home at 12:30am annnnd I woke up at 2:30am with dreaded food poisoning...

Happy New Year?

I stayed up till 6:45am -ish. Exhausted, in pain and drained...why not look for the positive? People usually don't want to look for the positive, especially when getting an amazing ab work in the worst way possible. So as I sat there hugging the toilet I thought, "I am pretty sure I lost 100 pounds." I ran to my mom's weight-thing-a-ma-bob and I lost 7 pounds! Ok, I don't recommend getting food poisoning just to lose some poundage but hey- I was trying to cheer myself up. If you want to lose some poundage, go running! I loooove running.

School comes along, I'm SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER excited to see my friends. My friends are cooler than your friends. anywho. In school, I'm trying to participate more, take a bunch of notes and ask a bunch load of questions even if it annoys everyone else. I'm getting the better advantage right? For example, I stink at Government. S-T-I-N-K. And we had a quiz before the weekend came. So Wednesday, Thursday I asked probably more than 34908 questions..ok, maybe like 15 questions but that's a lot. And what did I get on my quiz? A 38 outta 42! Yeah, BOOM. Now I just need to work on my Trig class...math and I have a love-hate relationship. I hate it most of the time and I think math loves seeing me suffer. But I need to be positive and just keep focus on the teacher and ask 2 million more questions than usual despite the dirty looks. No joke, I really want to look at someone giving me a dirty look and just say, "Be careful, your face will probably stay like that!"

Remember where I said that if I become more pleasant, more awesome opportunities will come my way? Well, I got asked to CHEAP by my dearest Wesley Burnham (aka "my dearest Wesley", "my dear Wesley"). Greatest feeling in the WORLD. why? Because I obviously wasn't the last girl on Earth to get asked (this is no exaggeration, true fact right there), and my dear Wesley asked ME. YAY. Go here for last year's Cheap adventure (I'm warning you, I look sickly). And guess what...I am getting a cold and losing my voice- just like last year. But I'm drugging myself up in the good way so I will be healthier than EVER. This year's theme is Superhero! How awesome is that?!

Compliments are stellar, yes? I know everyone loves compliments so I want to spread that cheer (Kind of like Christmas cheer- but not). I've been giving compliments lately and I've been getting some pretty great responses! But the "silliest" (notice the word choice...) response was...

Me: *insert compliment*

Person: *insert weird look* Are you just wanting a compliment back?

Yes, I am giving you a fake compliment so I may be enlightened by how awesome I look.

Upcoming Events:

**This Saturday, going on a date with my good friend Colton Bond (Guess what his full name is...JAMES BOND. No lie.) So yeah, I'm going on a date with a secret SPY.

**On Sunday, Canticles...ugh. Struggle. That's all I have to say.

**Then the 17th.....

WINTER FORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm only kind of sort of REALLY excited!

I have the GREAT oppurtunity to go with my friend, Jordan Brimley (Brimley, Brims, Jordan, whatev). dude. Brimley is like THE coolest man ever and my best friend. So I KNOW fo sho that I will have SUCH a blast. And guesss what! My dress is now all ready and modest, modest is hottest! :)

Did I mention he has GREAT fashion sense? ;)

Thanksgiving in the sticks

Weeelll dagGUM! I be spendin' the last four days in them sticks in Georgia!

Whoa, that was harder than I thought.

Translation: Well gollly gee! I spent the last four days in Georgia!

My dad and I took a red eye flight to Atlanta Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I love Georgia, I love the accents, the hilarious people, the woods there....I could seriously go on. My grandma and my mom picked us up from the airport around 6:30am and we drove about a half an hour back to Grandma's house...

My dad and I later ran through the hills singing "The hills are alive, with the sound of music..."

It was SO stinkin' gorgeous there. My Grandma's cabin home is HUUUGE and I loved just being in it.

The next day was THANKSGIVING. Stuffing, rolls, mashed potatoes, heaven, TURKEY, ham.... -droooool-

And then these crazy people came over...

Obviously I'm related to these stellar people :)

And my brother Danny was able to drive down from New York!!! :)

I am so thankful for him. He is my best sibling/brother/friend/thing. :) haha. He is so hacking hilarious and never fails to put a smile on my face!

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for a lot of things. I am thankful for the Gospel in my life, it has strengthened me so much and I have such a strong testimony that it is THE true gospel. I am thankful for the ability to laugh, it is my favorite thing to do. I love laughing with people and just feeling joy. Laughing has helped me get through tough times. I am thankful for my parents, they are my best friends. They encourage me to do good and are very patient with my teenager-ness. I love them so much! They are always there for me and teach me lessons that help me through this life. I am thankful for my friends. I swear I am secretly related to some of them, that's how close we are. They get me through the hardest of times and they are ALWAYS there to listen. They help me to not be afraid and to stay strong. Most of them I trust with all my heart and know they will never let me down. I love them dearly! I am thankful for music. It has helped me relax and get out off the world. Especially the piano; I am not stressed out once start playing. I'm thankful for Evergreen Ward, it was hard for me at first to move into the ward. But they are truly amazing people and some of my best friends are in that ward. They help me see my true potential and that I am a daughter of God. I'm thankful for the prophet Thomas S. Monson. His words have helped me know what to do through our this life and how to stay strong. He is wise and I am thankful for his leading example and I know he is God's mouthpiece. I am thankful for nature. It is beautiful and calming, I am thankful for God's amazing creations! And last but SOOO not least, I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my best friend and he never leaves me alone. He listens to my problems and knows exactly how I feel. He rejoices with me, he cries with me and he laughs with me. He knows I try and that I try hard...he understands me. I am thankful for his atoning sacrifice and his loving heart towards his siblings.

Here are the little things I've been loving/they bring happiness in my life:

**Playing the Piano, it's the one thing that helps me calm down when I want to just scream and kick someone. I'm glad I haven't kicked anyone yet...because that would be bad...anywho. I'm thankful for that ability to just sit and play...no goals, I just want to play.

**People holding my hand- call me what you want...but I love it when people hold my hand, especially what I've been going through lately with certain "silly" people. It's just nice to know that people care & come to comfort me.

**Winter, I LOVE the cold. Heck, it brings snow to places (but not Mesa. BLAST) and you can wear sweats and big hoodies and people don't question if you are a gangster!

I wouldn't recommend hugging a tiger though....that's dangerous.

Let's just say, holy FLIP thank GOODNESS for Skype and laptops that contain Skype-ness!!!! This whole week has been full of tears and more tears because of all my senior friends from last year leaving. We have been emailing each other, but that isn't enough. To actually SEE that they are safe and sound, my heart was COMPLETELY joyful!!!!

I'm so thankful for my friends and how they inspire me to do good.

Now, it's the 4th week of Senior Year. And I have only had ONE super bad day!!!! -HIGH FIVE-

Homecoming is coming up, Sept 24th. Um, yeah, I still have yet to be asked. And I'm a Senior. All these juniors are getting asked.

Ummmm...What?!

At first I was like, "Aw yay! You got asked!" Now I am going "COME ON!!!! Seriously??!!" But bless their junior souls, because if I were a guy...I would ask a junior too because they are pretty legit.

So, if any awesome boys haven't asked someone yet....just come over...and we can chat...and I'm pretty awesome......sooo..yeah.

This impatience curse I have is killing me. Anywho, Honor Choir is going to California on the 28th. I'm SO FLIPPIN' EXCITED!!! We are leaving at 12:00am on Thursday (I'm not too joyful about that) and we are going STRAIGHT to Six Flags/Magic Mountain/I'm gonna die Land. It doesn't really make any sense because we are going to be screaming our heads off and the next 2 days, we have festivals and concerts to sing at. "Don't scream too much!" says Noble. HAH. That's like asking a...a... I don't know. You get the picture.

But we get to go to a pier and the beauty of all that stuff! And at one of our festivals, ERIC WHITACRE WILL BE THERE! (Aubri, whose that?!) Go look him up, words cannot describe him.

I'm super excited to just leave school and be "stress free". I have TERRIBLE senioritis right now, and I'm only a Junior. BAD!

I'm so thankful for the seniors that I've made friends with because without them, I would probably quit Honor Choir.

This week has just been, "poopy". Yes, I just used that word. Full of tears and confusion, blah blah blah. But I continue to have support and love. I love and adore my friends.

Happy Days are Here Again...

So I don't know why.

But I'm extremely happy.

Have you ever had those RANDOM days?

I mean, I had a test in Math.

I have a C (79.7 I think) in English.

Someone asked me if I gained weight today (nope, jerk)

I have 5,000,000 things due during these next two weeks.

My last track meet is on Wednesday.

My allergies are RIDONKULOUS!

I almost murdered a few IB kids.

But I'm happy.

I don't get it! I'm not on drugs (I don't think I am at least). I guess that's what the Lord gives you after a couple weeks of heck. I'm so grateful for the many things in my life...

MUSIC

Where would I be without music in my life? I'd probably be one of the anti-social IB kids...definitely not what I want to be. I would be insane without the piano there to help me vent out my problems and to express my feelings.

FRIENDS

Holy. Moly. My friends are better than yours. They inspire me so much! And they are hackin' hilarious. They scream and belt songs with me and I'm not embarrassed to sing that loud and that horribly. They believe in me when others don't. I'll give you two examples out of the infinite amount of things they do for me; Jacob Peterson is practically my therapist, I honestly don't know how he deals with me. He knows what to say and how to help me with my lame problems! Now, Bethany Cluff. Or BETANEE. We are two of a kind; we scream songs and talk in horrible Spanish when we get excited. Yes, when we're excited. Tienes una problema? I'm going to miss her so much when she graduates. :( One more? Ok ok ok, NATALIE LEWIS. When you hear that name, you should have thought "Wow, she sounds beautiful, selfless, amazing and hilarious and talented and lovely in every way." Did you think of that? You did? Ok, you're not extremely stupid :)

FAMILY

My family is AMAZING. Like, you have no idea. Do you talk randomly in Spanish with your family? Before you go to bed, do you lay down with your mom and sing songs together in the dark? Do you have imaginary gun fights with your dad? Do you cry with your dad? No?

exactly.

There are so many other things but I'm tired. All this happiness is exhausting me, in a good way of course.
